Avoid These Bad Skin Habits (PART II)

Not getting enough sleep.  Sleep is the time when the body repairs the damage from the day. If this process is interrupted, the way the blood flows to the skin can be messed.  Not getting enough sleep can worsen skin conditions like eczema, acne and psoriasis. Natural Skincare Products

Not cleaning your face at night.  It is essential to wash your face every night to avoid clogged pores and zits.  When you remove impurities from the face, you let your skin breathe.

Eating junk food.  High-glycemic foods cause blood sugar to rise.  This can trigger a sudden increase of insulin. What insuline does is that it stimulates oil-producing hormones, leaving you with pimples. Natural Skin Cream

Ignoring your eyes. The first thing is to stop rubbing. When you rub the skin around your eyes, delicate blood vessels might be broken.  This can cause darkening and dulling in that area.  Remember to always apply an anti-aging eye cream.

Popping zits. Although it’s tempting, do not squeeze your pimples, because this simply pushes bacteria into the pores.  This can cause inflammation, infection and scarring.  Many professionals recommend using a spot treatment with no more than 2.5 percent benzoyl peroxide at night.  It is important to reapply it to major pimples in the morning. Night Cream

Not doing exercise. Exercise lifts your mood and increases blood flow to the skin. Doing exercise can also diminish tension and as a result you’ll have a better skin.  Stress increases cortisol levels which cause acne and other skin problems.

Exposure to the sun.  Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 30 every day.  Remember to reapply it every two hours.  Do not use tanning beds. They emit UVA light, which penetrates deeper than the combination of UVA AND UVB rays that are found in sunlight.

Using too many products. Be careful when you buy a lot of beauty products.  It is important to check the ingredients they have, since they might be duplicated. Ingredients can double up and cause irritation and skin damage. Sometimes the ingredients are just not compatible and cancel one another out.  Problems usually arise when someone wants to treat different problems at the same time. Take into consideration that the ingredients may be too abrasive together.

AVOID THESE BAD SKIN HABITS (PART I)

Not using sunscreen.  Many professionals recommend using SPF 30 at the minimum.  Formulas that shield both UVA and UVB (broad-spectrum formulas) with Mexoryl or Helioplex are the ones that give the best and longest protection.  Don’t forget to reapply, even if you are in a car.  If you are going to be outside for a long period of time, remember to reapply every two hours. Makeup Primer

Drinking too much.  Alcoholic beverages increase the level of inflammatory agents in the bloodstream. The skin can sag due to this. Moisturizer

Choosing the wrong products.  It is important to use products that are right for your skin. If you have oily skin, then it is important that you use oil-free lotions.  Once a week use a chemical exfoliant, like glycolic. If you have sensitive skin, it is a good idea to wash it with a milky cleanser.  Remember to use fragrance free, nonirritating sunscreens.  It is a good idea to use anti-aging creams with additional hydrators, like for example hyaluronic and shea butter. For combination skin, it is important to use a foaming cleanser specifically for oily skin. Use a lightweight moisturizer, however use a small amount of a thicker moisturizer on your drier spots. If your skin is dry, it is a good idea to use nonsoap creamy cleansers and moisturizers with trehalose.  You can also use creams with kinetin. If you are using an anti-aging treatment with retinol, apply it every other day.  Using it daily can increase dryness. Natural Skin Care

Overlooking your neck and chest. These areas should receive the same hydration and sun protection as the face. Every time to apply face cream, sunscreen or an exfoliating treatment, remember to also apply it to your neck and chest.

Ignoring moles. Be sure to get a mole screening once a year.  It is important to check yourself every month.  Examine unusual places, for example under the nails, your scalp, and the soles of your feet.

Skip washing makeup brushes.  Not washing make up brushes can cause clogged pores and bacterial infections.  Brushes should be washed every three weeks with a gentle shampoo. Rinse well and let them dry overnight.

Overexfoliating.   Too much exfoliating can increase oil production, worsening breakouts. Try using alternatives that are gentle.

Anti-Aging Skin Care Tips

Skin is a living tissue therefore it needs anti-aging skin care so it can look young. Aging is inevitable but there is a lot that can be done do to reduce wrinkles and avoid premature skin aging. Buy Skin Care

Follow these simple steps to reduce wrinkles and keep your skin stay smooth and vibrant:

Don’t smoke. Cigarette smoke is damaging to your health and skin aging. Cigarette smoke drains your body of anti-aging Vitamin C.  Vitamin C is an essential ingredient to keep your skin plump and moist. Cigarette smoke inhibits collagen production which is the substance that makes up about 70 percent of your connective tissue.  Collagen is what gives your skin that elasticity that is lost over time

Follow an anti-aging diet. The quality and the quantity of the food you eat is very important to have a healthy skin.  Eat plenty of ant-aging fruits and vegetables, especially brightly colored fruit and leafy greens.  These foods give your body vitamins and antioxidants that fight breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin.

Use an anti-aging moisturizer.   Remember that hot showers and baths may cause dry skin, especially as you grow older. Using an anti-aging moisturizer will keep you skin soft and reduce wrinkles. Drink plenty of water every day in order to keep your skin hydrated. Centella Asiatica

Be careful with the anti-aging products you use.  It is a good idea to consider using AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) based anti-aging moisturizers and skin products.  AHAs are natural fruit acids that can be found in fruit, sugarcane, and milk.  AHAs exfoliate more easily the skin, helping to unblock and cleanse pores.

Limit your sun exposure.  If UV rays penetrate into your skin’s tissues, they can cause wrinkles, dry skin as well as skin cancer.   Protect yourself with a good quality anti-aging sun screen with a SPF 15 rating or higher.   Remember to use the sun screen even if the day is cloudy. Don’t forget to wear sun glasses to protect your eyes.  Take into consideration that sun beds emit UV rays and that will make you age faster.  If you want a tan, it is a good idea to consider self tanning creams, spray on tans or tanning wipes. Skin Care Routine

Your body produces oil as a way of keeping skin supple and healthy. However when the body is producing more oil or sebum then the skin looks dull and it becomes shiny, greasy and thick.  You might have large pores, blackheads and pimples. Best Skin Care

Fortunately, there are many ways to treat oily skin.  However, before getting into that, it is important to mention the causes of oily skin. Best Skin Care Products

The main causes for oily skin are:

  • What you are eating.
  • Hormone levels that are associated with pregnancy, puberty or menopause.
  • Medications you are taking.
  • Humidity
  • Cosmetic products you are applying to your face.
  • Your hereditary.

Skin can be dry or normal in some areas and oily in others.  This is considered to be combination skin but it is treated just like oily skin. Best Skin Cream

The T-zone is the area of the face that has the tendency to be the oiliest.  This area is your forehead, chin and the area on or around your nose.  Teenagers usually have oily skin due to the fact that their hormonal changes cause blemishes on the skin.

Even though teens are the ones that usually have problems with oily skin and acne breakouts, this is a problem that people of all ages might have.

The following is a step-by-step routine for oily skin:

  • Use a morning cleansing with a gentle oil-free acne wash that contains salicylic acid.
  • Exfoliate your skin on a regular basis.
  • Use a toner to help to keep your skin firm and close pores after cleaning and exfoliating it.
  • Apply oil-free based moisturizer.
  • Wear foundation that is designed for oily skin.
  • Before going to sleep at night, don’t forget to cleanse, use toner, and moisturize to keep a healthy-looking skin.

It is important to pay attention to the way your skin feels after it is cleansed.  If your skin feels dehydrated and tight, then that means that you probably over-cleansed it or stripped beneficial moisture and oil that your skin needs. This could block the pores and cause breakouts because the oil can’t reach the skins surface.  Do not wash your face more than twice a day, since this can also cause the skin to over produce oil.

Great Tips that can keep you Healthy

Never skip breakfast.   One of the most positive things anyone can do is eating a proper breakfast.  People who skip breakfast usually gain weight.  A balanced breakfast should include fresh fruit or fruit juice, a high-fiber breakfast cereal, low-fat milk or yogurt, whole wheat toast, and a boiled egg. Anti Aging Skin Care

Brush up your teeth properly.  It is important to know how to brush your teeth in the right way.  Not doing so can lead to damage to the teeth and gums.  Brush your teeth for at least two minutes, floss and see a dentist regularly.  It is important to brush the teeth, the junction of the teeth and gums, the tongue and the roof of the mouth. Anti Oxidant

Practice Neurobics.   It is essential to energize your brain.   Neurobics are tasks that activate the brain’s own biochemical pathways that preserve brain circuits.  Brushing your teeth with your other hand, taking a new route to work or choosing your clothes based on sense of touch rather than sight are good ideas to keep your brain in good shape. Beauty Skin Care

Handle your stress.  It is important to eat regular and small healthy meals and keep fruit and veggies handy.    Eating unrefined carbohydrates, nuts and bananas boosts the formation of serotonin, which is a feel-good drug.   Small amounts of protein containing the amino acid tryptamine can give you a boost when stress tires you out.

Drink plenty of water. Never have soft drinks or energy drinks while you’re exercising.  You can stay properly hydrated by drinking enough water during your workout.  Just remember that drinking too much water is also bad for your health.  You might need energy drinks for long-distance running, however in shorter exercise sessions in the gym your body will burn the glucose from the soft drink first, before starting to burn body fat.

Stop smoking.  Don’t smoke and if you smoke already, do everything in your power to quit.  The addictive effects of nicotine can lead to different types of cancers, heart attacks and strokes. On top of that, orthopedic surgeons have found that smoking also accelerates bone density loss and constricts blood flow.
